Kevin Knox of the New York Knicks forced to stop for 2-3 weeks due to a left ankle injury, reported during his Knicks' home defeat against the Boston Celtics.

The injury occurred with 1.45 to play on the first quarter time trial. Know has distorted his left ankle by slipping on the foot of the Celtics point guard Terry Rozier, during a penetration attempt.

Kentucky's first year-produced player was screened in the Madison Square Garden locker room. The exams gave a negative result.

A preliminary estimate of recovery times was indicated in 2-4 weeks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, via Twitter.

A bad news for the New York Knicks, who lost the challenge against the Celtics for 103-101.

During the first two seasonal games, Knox - selected with the 9th choice from the Knicks in the last draft - turned out to be one of the most productive players leaving the bench for coach David Fizdale.

Kevin Knox's injury should free extra minutes from the bench for the astonishing rookie undrafted Allonzo Trier (author of 15 points in 25 minutes of play), and for guards Mario Hezonja and Damyean Dotson.

The New York knicks are also grappling with the long absence of Kristaps Porzingis, and with the injury of point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, out for a problem in his right ankle.

Courtney Lee is still out because of a back problem.
