What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today, we will talk about the latest happenings in the last hours of the NBA trade deadline. Let's start!
The moment I started writing this article, there's only 10 hours left before the NBA trade deadline ends and now, I'll give you a short summary of all the trades that happened in the last few hours of the NBA trade deadline.
Harrison Barnes was traded to the Kings in the middle of a game
It was a very shocking moment when Barnes heard the news that he was traded to the Sacramento Kings. He was actually on the court playing for the Mavericks and no idea at all when the news came. The trade will send Harrison Barnes to the Kings in exchange with Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph. This trade will actually help the Kings because Barnes is a proven player who can give them good scoring nights and help the young guys develop. His championship experience may also help the Kings in the future. Sacramento already have a nice back-court duo of De'Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield who are starting to blossom early in their careers. Having a great wing man like Barnes can help them in scoring.
The Washington Wizards will send Otto Porter Jr. to the Bulls
The Washington Wizards traded Otto Porter Jr. to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis. The Wizards are looking to clean some space with this trade as they get rid of Porter's huge contract. Porter recently signed a 4-year 106 million dollars contract with the Wizards but he's only averaging 12 points a game. Obviously not worthy of the contract that he signed. Now the Bulls will shoulder that contract and hope that Porter will thrive in Chicago while the Wizards will get two expiring contracts.
The Phoenix Suns land Tyler Johnson
The Miami Heat received Ryan Anderson after sending Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington to the Phoenix Suns. Heat are actually cleaning their expenses after the deal as they gained tax savings with this deal. The Suns will have a great back court addition with Johnson and help them defensively. He's not a point guard that the Suns are craving for but he can help them also in scoring. According to reports, Wayne Ellington will soon be waived and that will make him open to choose a team that he wants to play for. Teams who lacks outside shooting will be interested with the shooting guard.
Other Trades
The Los Angeles Lakers traded Svi Mykhailiuk and a future 2nd rounder for Detroit's Reggie Bullock. Wizards acquired Wesley Johnson from the Pelicans in exchange with Markieff Morris and a future 2nd round pick.
