There is a huge lack of news on Scorum about Luka Dončić, 19 year old rookie from Slovenia, playing his first NBA season for Dallas Mavericks.
I intend to fix this with regular posts about his performances. After all, he deserves it with his intensity in the game, his presence, performance, and achievement so far.
Numbers can't tell the whole story, of course. Yet, they are pretty telling right now:
- 13 games so far in the season,
- 19.6 points on average with 6.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists,
- 444 minutes played in total or 34.2 minutes per game.
34 minutes on court in each game? For 19 years old this is a lot. Are we sure that this guy is really a rookie? Well, when we take his European and international background in the count, he is already a quite experienced player.
Check the advanced stats page at NBA.com to see the whole story.
Yet, as I said already. Numbers don't tell the whole story. Images and movies can be much better at telling it :) So, prepare for the avalanche of videos with Luka's shots, scores, passes, tricks, and everything magical which is why I love basketball.
Let's start with the video from his magical performances at European championships 2017 where he was the second best player to Goran Dragić.
Stay tuned for more.
