Yes you heard it right.. NBA Star Darren Collison quit playing basketball and focus working about "Jehovah’s Witness"
Isn't that amazing?!? He played NBA in last 10 seasons and he caould play in any NBA teams with his good performance but he left.. Collison played 76 games with Indiana Pacers last season and he was at starting five in all games he played! He averaged 11.2 points, 6.0 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals with only 1.6 turnover... Quite great performance right?! He is only 32 years old and i believe he could play 3 or 4 years easily.. And also he could make around $10 million for per year if he signs with any NBA teams.. His last contact was with the Indiana Pacers, 2 years for $20 million in 2017..
In his words he said that he still love basketball in big time but he want to spend time with his family and his faith.. He said that the joy he is having above anything when he works for Jehovah’s Witness.. His close teammate Myles Turner said that he is very surprised but he said that he is very happy for his friend about his decision..
He played 4 season UCLA in college and 3 times seleceted for All-Pac teams. In his 10 years of NBA career he played for Hornets, Mavericks, Clippers, Kings and Pacers, averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.. He also was the 3 point percentage leader in 2017-18 NBA season with %46.8..
I have watched him since 2009 and he was always a solid and smart player .. Good bye Darren, i hope you will find your peace with your family, we will never forget about you..
