After 10 years, Western Champs, once again.

I’ll go ahead and say what everyone’s thinking. At long last, the Lakers did not disappoint.

I know everyone in the ball world is still relishing this moment, so let’s talk about one of the most memorable feats in the NBA 2020 Playoffs so far. For the first time in a decade, the Los Angeles Lakers successfully bagged an NBA Finals spot.

They took the glory from the Denver Nuggets at Game 5, winning 117-107. It’s quite the close call, but nonetheless a sweet victory for every Lakers fan (myself included).

From underdogs to top dogs, the Lakers took this game with everything they’ve got. But there’s no denying that LeBron was the star of this match.

Lest we forget, LeBron missed the playoffs during his first year with the Lakers. But this time around, he made sure it’s going to be a different story. To galvanize their win, LeBron was able to rack up a total of 38 points with 16 rebounds and 10 assists.

In simpler terms, King James still got it.

But alongside LeBron, Anthony Davis put in just as much effort into this victory - finishing with 27 points. This is his first year with the Lakers, and he’s already on his way to the Finals. Off to a great start.

Now what we saw was the Lakers at their best, showing us what real team coordination looks like. It’s like getting transported back to ‘09 or ‘10. Safe to say that the Lakers are finally back in their element.

Obviously, they’re not done yet. As you read this, the Lakers are back in the court to play Game 1 of the finals against the Miami Heat. How things will turn out, we have yet to find out.
