Los Angeles Lakers president for basketball operations Magic Johnson gave himself an ultimatum to encourage elite free agents to sign a contract with their team.

According to Johnson, if he can't recruit until the next summer he would step down on his position.

"Like I told you when I took the job, it's going to be a two-summer thing for the Lakers," Johnson said. "This summer, and next summer, and that's it. And if I can not deliver, I'm going to step down myself. She will not have to fire me. I'll step away from it. Because then, I can not do this job. But so far, so good.

The NBA great give too much effort now to be able to recruit Paul George and possibly LeBron James on the upcoming weekend.

Johnson is confident they can move George, LeBron and other big names in the NBA to Hollywood.

“I’m Magic Johnson. You know how many finals I’ve been in? So you think I’m worried about this? I played against Larry Bird in the Finals. I played in nine Finals.”
