The match up earlier between the Timberwolves vs Rockets proved to be a spectacle with both teams playing high level basketball with Minnesota mounting a spectacular comeback despite the return of Chris Paul and especially after Houston getting off to a red hot start. The Houston Rockets great start was credit to Capella who was very strong around the rim and rebounds along with James Harden who had a massive first half with 22 points but failed to deliver during the remainder of the game. The 3rd quarter run by the Timberwolves really changed the outlook of things when new additions such as Robert Covington and Dario Saric having a major impact in the third quarter along with Jeff Teague and Karl-Anthony Towns, and Taj Gibson helping the Timberwolves overcome a 16 point deficit and hit the lead. The game was over early in the 4th quarter with Robert Covington getting a massive block on Clint Capella and following this up by a dagger three giving the Timberwolves the 12 points lead with the Rockets showing no signs of mounting a comeback with the Timberwolves capturing a 103-91 victory. This was a big game for both teams as the Houston Rockets were 11-11 before the ball game and the Minnesota Timberwolves were 11-12 with the win improving their record to 12 wins and 12 losses so far in the 2018-2019 NBA regular season.
