What is worth remembering from the first week in the best basketball league in the world which is the NBA? LeBron James debuts in the Lakers, Luka Doncicia in Mavericks and Kawhi Leonard in the Raptors, a fight at the Staples Center and an incredible acceleration of the game. I will focus on Lakers' games in the next week including famous fight that took place during the game Lakers vs Rockets.

In the previous week Lakers had two games. They played against Portland on Friday, and against Houston on Sunday. Unfortunately for them they lost both games with the following results:

  • Portland Trail Blazers vs LA Lakers 128-119
  • Houston Rockets vs LA Lakers 124-115

The first fight for over a decade

12 years ago for the last time there was a fight in the NBA, after which several players were suspended. Back then New York Knicks' and Denver Nuggets' players fought. Now players from the local Lakers and Houston Rockets have clashed at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It began with the clash of Brandon Ingram with James Harden, but the conflict escalated after the exchange of Rajon Rondo with Chris Paul. Referee wasn't too eager to intervene... (P.S. Love that pic.)

The league authorities investigated the matter and determined that in fact Rondo spit on the rival, which according to the Rockets camp was to provoke their quarterback to react. And the reaction was ... sticking a finger into Rondo's eye, which he replied with a blow to his face.

The whole situation ended with throwing out Ingrama, Rondo and Paula and later suspending the three of them for four, three and two meetings respectively. So Lakers will have to play without Ingram and Rondo, which of course won't be an easy task.

LeBron without winning at the Lakers

Let's leave the fight behind - regardless of it, James is still without winning in Lakers jersey. The team from Los Angeles did not play bad in both matches, but they were worse and lost 119:128 with Blazers in Portland and 115:124 with Rockets at home. There was visible lack of better defense, no experience, no power (lost battle for the rebounds, a total of 27 offensive rivals) and no efficiency. In Portland, the visitors hit 7 out of 30 rehearsals, 8 out of 32 at home, which in total gives the worst in the league 24%. LeBron? For now, he looks at his team and gives a chance to others, he does not try to dominate the matches. On average, 25 points and 5.5 assists are little for him. Eventhough he showed his strength in the game on Monday (22nd of October), still it was too little.

New week and not so Happy Moanday, hopefully the last one!

As it also applies to the Lakers team I decided to include and at least mention this at the very end. On Monday they had a third game against San Antonio Spurs. I know that this is the event from this week, but we can see that their bad luck continues. I hope that they will groan and moan till this "Happy Moanday" and their bad karma will end.

In the game on Monday, LeBron James scored 32 points, had 14 assists and eight rebounds, but his team Los Angeles Lakers, lost at home after extra time with San Antonio Spurs 142:143.

Thus, four-time MVP of the season, James did not win a single victory with his new club. However, he gave himself and his colleagues a chance three seconds before the end of the fourth quarter, when he hit the basket with a throw from about nine meters, leading to a draw and consequently to extra time.

This time, however, in a similar situation, he was not so lucky, even though he tried from a shorter distance. Poor LeBron and poor Lakers :(

Don't worry Lakers. You are a good team with great MVP player who is LeBron. You can count those three games toward a warmup. As a team you have to adjust to each other and with time things will go better. Your fans are counting on you. Even if there are memes in the internet, as you can see on the picture above your true fans will always defend you. And one more thing, don't fight anymore during a game, in front of your fans you should behave like a pros. Good luck in your future games!!
