Luka Doncić was a major contributor to Dallas Mavericks' away victory over Minnesota Timberwolves 119:115. This is another great performance of 19-year-old Slovenian who is one of the biggest surprises this season.

Two days earlier, Doncić threw 30 points against Phoenix Suns. This time he won 29, including an important "three" in less than 23 seconds before the end of the match, thanks to which Mavericks took the lead 117:115.

Playing the first season in the NBA, Slovenian has a chance to go down in history - if he is selected to the starting five of the Star Game he will be the sixth rookie and the first in this role from 2013. He would also be the first European and second basketball player from outside the US "first year" who would start the meeting in the main five of the Star Game. After the first announcement of the voting results, the fans take a sensational second place among frontcourts in the Western Conference (after LeBron James from the Los Angeles Lakers).

The NBA All-Star match and its accompanying events will take place this year in Charlotte, North Carolina, on February 15-17.

Summary of the week

  • After Le Bron's departure to the Lakers, the last year finalists, Cavaliers can not yet recover. This time the team from Cleveland lost the away game with Houston Rockets 113:141.
