Dwight Howard will replace Marcin Gortat in the middle position in the basketball team of the NBA league Washington Wizards - American media reported.
A few days ago, Marcin Gortat moved to Los Angeles Clippers on an exchange basis with Austin Rivers, and now the Wizards authorities announced that the new middle one will be Howard. In the previous season he played in Charlotte Hornets, and recently it was reported that in the 2018/2019 competition he will be a Brooklyn Nets player (he was also there as a result of the exchange). Ultimately, however, his new employer is a club from Washington. The contract will be valid for a year.
Last season, Howard played 81 games, all in the main squad and had an average of 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. He hoped he would go to one of the strongest teams, but for example, defending the Golden State Warriors title, they contracted DeMarcus Cousins.
Earlier, Howard performed in:
- Orlando Magic (2004-2012)
- Los Angeles Lakers (2012-2013)
- Houston Rockets (2013-2016)
- Atlanta Hawks (2016-2017)
- Hornets (2017-2018).
His statistics from the entire career are 17,4 point and 12.7 rebounds.
