I am thrilled to announce my 235th Scorum Sports Cast! You can find me @thesportsguru and I will be giving you the best 5-10 minute sports rants here on Scorum every day. On today’s episode I will talk some NBA, March Madness, and recap the 6th grade girl’s championship game from last night.

Let’s get started with Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. The opening song to this podcast is from the 1990’s boy band, Boyz II Men. “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye” was a massive hit a few decades ago and is well known with anyone within a few years of my age range (40 years old). It is a sad song that was frequently played at funerals or you would listen to it after your girlfriend broke up with you for that guy with a mullet and a Trans-Am.

So why am I playing it today? Well, the funeral is here for the Los Angeles Lakers and Lebron James. They are 10.5 games back of the 8th and final playoff place in the Western Conference and they only have 11 games left.

One of my good friends is a die hard Laker and Lebron fan and he paid big money yesterday morning to take his son to Milwaukee to see the Lakers/Bucks and Lebron/Giannis. Boy was he pissed off when he found out that Lebron took the night off! This season has been one disaster after another and I think it is time for Magic Johnson to SERIOUSLY consider trading Lebron this summer. Laker Nation will NEVER accept him after this bogus season and lack of effort. The biggest thing that Lebron James accomplished this year was not passing Michael Jordan in scoring. It was burning the entire fanbase of the Los Angeles Lakers for life. R.I.P. Lebron’s career…

The Belmont Bruins took care of business last night against the Temple Owls on the opening night of the NCAA Tournament. Not only did they win the game, but they easily covered the -3.5 spread 😊! Belmont is one dangerous team and I think they will get past the Maryland Terrapins on Thursday. Maryland is a 4 point favorite so I will be dropping the hammer on Belmont +4…

Last night was the final game of our 6th grade girls basketball season. We lost in the championship game to the undefeated #1 seed. Hats off to the Stillman Cardinal Girls. We were thrilled to get the second place trophy but more importantly, it was so great to see the progress the girls made from day one to now. If you would have told me a few years ago that I would be coaching Addi’s team and loving it I would have called you crazy. But it was the most fun and satisfying thing I have done as a parent. #ProudCoach #ProudDad

If the Lakers and I can’t work out a deal after Luke Walton gets fired, I will be back to coach the 7th grade Royal Lions team next year!

I would love to tell you all about it in my new Scorum Sports Cast. To check out my 235th show just click the play button below. I look forward to hearing your input and comments. Cheers!
