Lebron James made his debut in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform and I must admit, it was pretty damn cool to see. I have been an anti-Lebron guy for his entire career as I am a die hard Michael Jordan fan and I have always thought the comparisons between the two are absurd. Sure, Lebron is one of the best players in the history of the NBA, but he can’t touch MJ.

But I do and did enjoy watching Lebron on the Lakers. This is the best thing that has happened for the sport of basketball in a long time. Lebron started the game off with two phenomenal dunks. The Portland crowd even appeared to be cheering for Lebron. But then everything I expected to happen, did.

The Lakers don’t play defense. The Lakers can’t shoot from outside. The Lakers didn’t play their starters enough in the preseason and that led to 6 turnovers by Lebron. He had 6 assists and 6 turnovers and that ratio is deadly if the Lakers are expecting to win.

I know this was only one game. I get it. They will get better as the season continues on. But think about this, they host the 0-1 Houston Rockets tomorrow night. Can you believe the Lakers or Rockets will be 0-2 to start the year? This Western Conference is going to put Lebron through the biggest regular season grind that he has ever had in his now 16th season.

Buckle up, and enjoy the ride…..On another note, Josh Hart needs to be immediately put in the starting line-up. Will Luke Walton take his blinders off and make the move tomorrow night?
