Fresh off Week 2 of the college basketball season, sports betting pundits are now seeing some answers as to who might wind up at the top spot of the league. Last year, the Cavs dominated the Red Raiders to achieve their first NCAA tournament title over an 85-77 win, but this year we’re getting a wider set of favorites that are yet to prove their places.

The basketball action is on, but the games have only just begun. If you’re betting on the action-fueled collegiate basketball season this time, here‘s the NCAAB rankings so far to help you arrive at a wise decision.

Kentucky Wildcats

Talk about an epic comeback. The Kentucky Wildcats have had a rough start, and in the previous years their defenses left a lot to be desired. It’s easy to say the team’s in bad shape. But lo and behold, the Wildcats definitely surprised us with that gleaming 2-0 starter, with Tyrese Maxey staging an early rise after scoring 26 points against No. 1 Michigan State, which they defeated after a 69-62 win. As the top preseason picks, the Wildcats are clearly living up to their status.

Louisville Cardinals

After opening the season with an ACC win that displayed an impressive 87-74 against Miami, the Cards are definitely putting up a show which puts them atop the NCAAB rankings without question. Not to mention that landslide home victory against Youngstown State, which ended at 78-55. With Darius Perry scoring 10 points and 12 assists, Louisville has proven that no doubts are surrounding their point guard play no more.

Duke Blue Devils

Who could possibly brush off that grand slam 89-55 home win? But even before their impressive feat against Colorado State, the Blue Devils have consistency written all over their roster after a 68-66 win over the Jayhawks. In these games, Tre Jones did not disappoint for having scored 30 points and 15 assists, along with other players landing on double digits. Definitely, the team to watch this season.

Michigan State Spartans

The Spartans were head-to-head with Kentucky as sports betting preseason favorites going into the tourney, as what we have witnessed in that breathtaking match. However, Michigan was dominated by the latter, and after point guard Cassius Winston lost his brother to a tragedy, the team suffered a rough drop. However, the senior point guard found some inspiration and scored 17 points and 11 assists, which resulted in a massive win of 100-47.

North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels’ offense is its strongest suit, thanks to Cole Anthony’s immense skills and distinct play style. With the way he’s performed in recent matches, you can say that he’s the driving force of the team that helped catapult North Carolina back at the higher spot of the NCAAB rankings. After scoring 34 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists, and not to mention this is his very first collegiate basketball game, Cole Anthony has the ability to push the team even further.

Maryland Terrapins

Jalen Smith scoring 10 points in just over three minutes is something you just can’t overlook. Although settling in the middle, the Terrapins are on a mission to elevate their position after opening the season with a 24-point win against Holy Cross. Smith is definitely a star of double-double performances, clinching 17.5 points, 11 rebounds and 2.5 blocks so far.

Gonzaga Bulldogs

Filip Petrusev is impossible to ignore, what with those remarkable shots that landed him an average of 20 points in his first two games. It would be plain foolish to look past that, along with the fact that the Bulldogs managed to beat two teams by 80 points combined.

One of these teams might just inch closer to NCAAB supremacy, but it’s hard to speak too soon. As we’ve seen, the games are highly unpredictable this season, and the ranks are quickly shifting each week.
