Make it back-to-back for Jonathan Taylor. The Wisconsin HB was named the nation's top back for a second consecutive season, taking home his 2nd Doak Walker Award. Taylor won the award last season as well, and was a Finalist the year prior as a freshman.

The Doak Walker Award has been rewarded to the nation's top running back every year since 1990. Taylor joins a small list of backs that have won the Award multiple times, joining the likes of just Ricky Williams (1997, 1998) & Darren McFadden (2006, 2007). He is the fourth RB from Wisconsin to win the Award, joining the Big TEN's all-time leading rusher in Ron Dayne (1999), Montee Ball (2012), and Melvin Gordon (2014).

Taylor is one of just 7 players to top the 6,000-yard mark for his career, and the only player needing just 3 seasons to do so. In fact, no other player has rushed for more yards through their junior year in NCAA history. Taylor's 6,080 career yards is good for 6th on the all-time list.

He set a career high in rushing TDs this season with 21, and when you throw in his 5 receiving TDs, his 26 total scores is also a career best. For his career, the junior has 50 total rushing TDs. He went for 100-yards in 10 of the Badgers 13 games this season, and hit the 200-yard mark in four of those games - including 3 consecutive league games against Iowa, Nebraska, and Purdue.

Taylor had to beat out some tough competition. Ohio State HB J.K. Dobbins & Oklahoma State's Chuba Hubbard were the other two Finalists and both turned in outstanding seasons in their own right. Dobbins rushed for 1,829 yards and 20 scores, helping to lead the Buckeyes into the CFP, while Hubbard has racked up 1,936 yards and 21 scores for an Oklahoma State squad that finished up 8-4.

If the Junior decides to come back for his senior year, he would easily be on-pace to shatter Ron Dayne's NCAA career rushing mark of 7,125. Taylor is expected to be the top RB taken in the upcoming NFL Draft, however, and with clearly nothing left to prove at the collegiate level, seems headed to the NFL after the Rose Bowl game against Oregon. Pro teams would be wise not to pass on Taylor, who has put on more muscle and increased his speed in each off-season. Congrats to Taylor on another incredible season, and well-deserved Doak Walker Award.
