I am thrilled to announce my 237th Scorum Sports Cast! You can find me @thesportsguru and I will be giving you the best 5-10 minute sports rants here on Scorum every day. On today’s episode I will recap the first day of March Madness and give you some stone cold LOCKS for Saturday’s action.

Let’s first get started with my NEW favorite player and team. The Wofford Terriers and their star shooter, Fletcher Magee, had little trouble beating Seton Hall on Thursday night. Magee became the all-time leader in college basketball in 3-point shots made. He was sinking shots from all over the court and is a TON of fun to watch play.

Wofford will play Kentucky on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament (more on that in the podcast). If you don’t know who Fletcher Magee is, your will know on Saturday!

But Wofford was not my favorite team and Fletcher Magee was not my favorite player until the Nevada Bulldogs choked yesterday against the Florida Gators. Nevada was led by the Martin twins but they did not even show up in the first half and when they made a late run to take the lead in the second half they ran out of gas. They were my Cinderella hopeful but that story ended before it started…

The Minnesota Golden Gophers sure looked impressive in their win over Louisville on Thursday. The nailed fifteen 3-point shots and were dominant on the boards. If they can do that against Michigan State on Saturday, then Sparty will be in big trouble...
