Johnny Football had a rough experience last week in his CFL regular season debut.  He threw 4 interceptions, got pulled from the game and his team lost 50-11.  Not an ideal start.

This past weekend Manziel showed a significant amount of improvement.  His numbers still aren't where they need to be if the Montreal Alouettes want to start winning some football games and climb their way out of last place.  Even with the abysmal 1-7 start for the Alouettes, they are still only 2 games out of a playoff spot with the crazy rules in the CFL.  If Manziel continues to show improvement, playoffs might start looking a bit more realistic in Montreal.

This week the Alouettes had a tough match against the first place team in their conference, the Ottawa Red Blacks.  The Red Blacks were clear favorites in the game but Manziel and the Alouettes kept the game close and made things interesting right until the end.  A drastic improvement over the beat down the Alouettes received last week.

Manziel wasn't perfect, only completing 16 of 26 passes but, he looked great on his feet and eliminated the interceptions from his first outing.  The Alouettes were actually leading heading into the fourth quarter before a late comeback by the Red Blacks.

Things are looking way up from last week and if Manziel continues to improve, his comeback might start to become a reality.
