The second Sunday of the NFL season is in the books so here are the different thoughts and opinions I have on various things I witnessed yesterday. Just remember I am a Dallas Cowboys fan and I'm extremely biased. Feel free to agree or disagree about anything mentioned here. All comments are welcome.

Thanks Landon Collins!

Tavon Austin smoking Landon Collins ass.

Last week the Cowboys offense was so bad I put them on a milk carton hoping somebody could find them. They really needed someone to light a fire under their ass. Enter Giants safety Landon Collins.

Collins told the press last week the Giants would load the box against Dallas and force Dak Prescott to make plays.

Prescott responded with "challenge accepted." And he meant it. Less than two minutes into the game he hit Tavon Austin with a beautiful bomb for a 64 yard TD. What made it extra sweet was that one of the defenders Austin blew by was Collins.

The Cowboys only scored 20 points, but at least they showed a little creativity in moving the ball around. Makes me feel a little better about the offense moving forward. The defense was superb again, dumping Eli Manning and his persistent dumb face down on the turf for 6 sacks. It never gets old beating the Giants. See you chumps again in December!

Stylin' and Proflin'

The "Nature Boy" would be proud. "We just have to stay humble."

Last week when Ryan Fitzpatrick lit it up against the Saints I figured it was just a fluke. I mean, c'mon. He couldn't keep the QB job with the Jets. Surely he couldn't repeat that performance against a quality defense like the Eagles have.

Turns out I know as much about football as Landon Collins. Fitzgerald torched the Eagles for 402 yards and 4 TDS. As a passionate Eagle-hater I loved it. I even broke out into one of my favorite songs:

"Die Eagles Die, You'll never see another victory!"

Where the hell did this come from? Good news Jameis Winston, no need to work out while you're suspended. You're job has been taken. Fitzpatrick is the first QB in NFL history to throw for 400 yards and 4 TDS in each of the first two games to start a season.

Even better than his performance on the field was his post-game press conference. Click on the video above if you missed it. It's hilarious.

I'm starting to think this kid might be good

This kid could have a future.   Source

Speaking of QB's who had a big game, it was with great pleasure that I watched Patrick Mahomes completely shred the Steelers. 6 TD passes! He only had 5 incompletions the entire game.

It doesn't hurt that the Chiefs offense is loaded with weapons, but the QB still has to make plays. He impressed me by keeping his composure after the Chiefs blew a 21-point lead in the first half.

The Chiefs are looking like a real Super Bowl contender early on, but Andy Reid is still their head coach so it will be interesting to see how he screws it up this time.

My Dad was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I could just hear him cursing out the TV watching that disaster. Ah the memories. Don't fret Steelers fans, you get Fitzpatrick next week. 0-2-1 will be a nice hole to dig out of.

Raiders need to get more pressure on the QB

Maybe he should have stayed in the booth Source

Jon Gruden must have really liked his co-workers at ESPN because he is certainly helping them out by providing plenty of things to talk about.

After the Raiders lost a heartbreaker at Denver, the coach told the media the Raiders need to "get more pressure" on the quarterback. Hmm, didn't the Raiders used to have a guy that did that? Whatever happened to him?

Oh that's right, he's on the Bears now. Khalil Mack is his name. In fact while I'm typing this post Mack is currently running roughshod over the Seahawks. I like how Gruden keeps saying Mack didn't want to play in Oakland. Right. Mack would have gladly stayed if they would have paid him like Mark Davis paid a coach who hasn't won a game in ten years. The Raiders better convert those draft picks into superstars or they'll never live this trade down.

Flag Football is coming

Clay Matthews trying to figure out why he was flagged for playing football

The NFL is losing it's mind. After everyone in America today has been griping about the ridiculous roughing-the-passer penalty called on Clay Matthews that saved the day for the Vikings, the league has announced not only was the call correct, it will be sending a tape of the play to each team for teaching purposes.  Good lord, what is happening to football?

If you haven't seen it, watch this slow motion clip.

Bullshit

If you think that deserves a flag stop watching football. Try soccer, they like flopping like sissies.

For those of you who are to young to remember, this is what roughing-the-passer looks like:

"Bah god he's broken in half!"

We'll be watching flag football soon. Maybe bringing the XFL back isn't such a stupid idea after all.

I hope your team did well this week. Ok, I only hope that if you root for Dallas. Otherwise I don't really care. Let me know your thoughts on Week Two.
