A wild finish to Week 2 included victories from all three of my season fantasy teams, Team Thompson, Carl's Team, and Thompson Trilogy.
--
I needed Le'Veon Bell (RB) to score just 8 points on Monday night for Carl's Team to hold on but I needed Nick Chubbs (RB), from Team Thompson, to out perform Le'Veon Bell so that Team Thompson could get their first victory {Team Thompson's opponent, "Rickys 413 goons," also started Le'Veon Bell, so I needed Le'Veon Bell to save one team but lose just enough to the other. Crazy, I know}.
Team Thompson
Le'Veon Bell helped Carl's Team win by 10 points but threatened to knock off Team Thompson late in the 4th quarter as he seemed to have been rushing in for a late drive touchdown until a player from the Brown's defense tackled him and caused him to fumble. If Le'Veon Bell had completed that play for a large gain and possibly scored in the red-zone then Team Thompson would have lost, however, we held out strong with a little luck.
Here's a clip of Bell's would be dagger/fumble against Team Thompson late in the 4th quarter:
Carl's Team
*Interestingly enough, both Team Thompson and Carl's Team scored victories with one player from each team putting up 0 points. Njoku (TE) on Team Thompson got hurt on his first catch attempt last night and Howard (TE) on Carl's Team put up another poor performance for the 2nd week in a row, scoring 0. Serious adjustments need to be made for both Team Thompson and Carl's Team, however, we are ecstatic to come away with Week 2 victories that came down to the wire.
Thompson Trilogy
As for Thompson Trilogy, we continue to dominate my Amateur Apex fantasy league as we are now tied in first place out of twelve teams and have blown out our 2nd opponent in a row. *The only reason we are 3-1 after 2 games is because this league plays two game each week. One game against the opponent and one game against the average total points scored by each team. Even though Thompson Trilogy dominated my opponents outright in both Week 1 and Week 2, we failed to score above the league average in Week 1, thus giving us a dent in our record. Nonetheless, we are in primed position and look forward to continue to score big moving forward in the season.
*Again, Thompson Trilogy carries the most risk reward out of all 3 teams so to have this kind of start is very motivating for me.
Lets continue to hold strong and wish me luck working the wavier wire this week as I could use some serious adjustments and gut checks for players on all 3 teams moving forward.
Good luck to you and yours as well.
