Last week Odd Shark released their updated NFL playoff odds, with the New England Patriots having the best odds by far compared to the other 31 teams.

The 5-time champions have -1,500 odds to make the playoffs in 2018. To put this into perspective, this means the Patriots are 15 times more likely to make the playoffs than not according to gambling odds.

This is a strong showing for the Patriots heading into the 2018-19 season after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII last year. The playoff odds come as no surprise, as the Patriots are in a weak AFC East division and have made the playoffs in nine-straight seasons.

The next best playoffs odds in the AFC are the Pittsburgh Steelers at -550. The Steelers surpass the odds of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who played in the AFC Championship last year against the Patriots. The Jaguars’ odds sit at -140, giving them the third best odds in the AFC.

Rounding up the NFC is a tie between the Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings with odds of -260. Last year the Eagles were Super Bowl LII and now have NFL MVP-nominee Carson Wentz returning from injury in 2018. The Vikings lost in the NFC Championship to the Eagles last season, and now look to take another step forward with the huge addition of quarterback Kirk Cousins this offseason.
