Jonnu Smith-TE (Tennessee Titans)

Starting tight end Delanie Walker dislocated his ankle in the season opener and is likely out for the season. Next man up Jonnu Smith who has had a good camp is ready to assume the role. Smith had a lot of reps with the first team in training camp because Walker was hobbled during training camp. Up next for the Titans is the Texans who was torched by Gronk in week 1 so this will be an opportunity for Smith to show that he is ready. The only concerning thing is Marcus Mariota status for week 2 so keep an eye out for that.

Dante Pettis-WR (San Francisco 49ers)

This is a player that I was high on pre-draft because of his ability to play on either side of the formation as well as in the slot. I expected him to be vital part of the 49ers offense at some point this year. With Goodwin going down with a quad injury that will likely be nagging him for a couple of weeks, Pettis has a chance to step in and get some important reps for the 49ers. Up next is the Chiefs who have a questionable secondary. If Dante Pettis can score on the stout Vikings secondary look for him to eat against the Chiefs. Deep leagues put Pettis on your roster. Will be excellent in PPR scoring.

Chris Godwin-WR (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

The Buccaneers surprised a lot of people on Sunday with their offensive explosion. Maybe this is who they are maybe they unloaded in week 1 only but it looks like Ryan Fitzpatrick likes to spread the ball around to everyone including rookie Chris Godwin who had an excellent training camp. He received 4 targets and was able to get a score out of his targets. Godwin is a great dynasty play and will be a good deep league play. Desean Jackson will be in concussion protocol this week so he may be in line for more work with Jackson not practicing.

Phillip Lindsay-RB (Denver Broncos)

This is a pickup that im not to excited about because he is part of a committee. This committee is 3 backs which includes Royce Freeman, Devontae Booker, and Phillip Lindsay. Lindsay had 17 touches for 102 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. The snap counts were pretty even amongst the RB’s with Royce Freeman at 29, Phillip Lindsay 26, and Devontae Booker 19. So, this will be hard to tell who will shine each week. Lindsay will be a good deep league pickup if you are hurting for backs.

Will Dissly-TE (Seattle Seahawks)

The tight end situation in Seattle has been a problem for a long time. Jimmy Graham never really got going as a Seahawk now he is in Green Bay. Will Dissly stepped up in week 1 with 3 receptions 105 yards and a touchdown. I picked Nick Vannett to be a sleeper TE pre-draft but Dissly had 5 targets to Vannett’s 2. This will be a Tight end committee situation in Seattle but with one week of film it looks like Dissly is the receiving TE while Vannett is the blocking tight end. Keep an eye on both but go with Will Dissly this week if you need a tight end.
