Arturo Olivé, General Director of NFL Mexico, hopes to build his legacy in the coming years.

A decade after his arrival in front of the office, the manager continues to work to meet the high expectations demanded by the 25 million fans in the league in the country.

For now, he already guaranteed one game per year until 2021, afterwards, he will explore the opportunity to increase it and go to other cities of the Republic if conditions permit.

Arturo Olivé spoke exclusively with the 'Diario Esto' about all his plans for the 2018 season of the NFL that is one month behind the 'kickoff'. I found it very valuable information to discover by all the NFL fans in Scorum. So I gave myself the time to translate the interview.

- How do you face a new season at the head of the league in the country?

It is a season with many challenges, what we have achieved has put the bar very high, like the name of the country. We have a great opportunity to continue building what has been done for ten years, we have learned a lot and there is much more to learn. We want to exceed the expectations we have for what we have done in previous editions.

-After ten years in charge of the office, what is the most outstanding thing you have achieved?

They are many anecdotes. The process that we have developed, the opportunities for growth, if I keep something, is with the effort of teamwork with which we get games in Mexico. Something that looked very far until a few years ago. Without a doubt that is one of the greatest satisfaction.

- Are you surprised by the impact that the NFL has reached?

No, I've known him for many years and I am proud to know that we are the largest amateur base outside of the United States. It gives us the opportunity to expand on the large number of followers we have in Mexico.

-From the talks you have held with owners, the leaders, what do you think of Mexico?

It speaks very well. I have had the opportunity to speak with the commissioner (Roger Goodell), with the owners of the franchises, and the consensus is that it is good that things are being done well. The words of support, of continuing along the path we have set for ourselves, and that today we can deliver the commitment of a world-class event.

-What is the objective for this 2018?

There are two or three, there is no main one. First continue to grow the fan base, two the presence and business of the league in Mexico, and three deliver a show to match the previous two, to continue building there. All three have the same level of importance.

-What can we expect from the game on November 19?

It will be the third year in a row where we can have an NFL game, with two teams that want to increase their popularity in the country. They will be two very good representatives of the league.

-It will be a 'Monday Night' ...

We evaluate different windows. And Monday night offers us some very interesting opportunities to promote the Mexico brand, in a territory as important as the United States. We had the opportunity and we took it, we believe it will be very positive. It is one of the stellar schedules.

-A great part of the fans are waiting for Dallas, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, popular teams, are you likely to see them soon?

Be patient. We are doing the work with each of the teams, everyone is interested, some more and some less, and eventually, we can have the opportunity to invite these and other teams. Each one has commitments with their stadiums, and eventually, they could come so that one day we can boast that all the teams have come to Mexico.

- About the number of games per season, are you planning to imitate the four that London has today?

We are in a process of learning, as they had it. Beyond comparing us, we have been learning together and being able to deliver a better event year after year. What we know today is that we have one game per season, in Mexico City, in the Azteca stadium, until 2021. From then on, we'll see.
