I may have walked away with another win this week but it was a pretty close matchup. This was the lowest score I've put up so far this season and thankfully I was facing the last place team in that league. The Ravens Defense laid a nice and round goose egg which was also a first for me this season.
My wide receivers didn't really do much for me either last week. Theilen put up his lowest score of the season and ended his streak of 100+ receiving yards every game but at least he put up a touchdown. The other two WRs didn't even break 10 points, shameful. Will Fuller IV going out on injury for the remainder of the season could be my demise in that league, time will tell.
Last week's win kept me in second place but it also bumped up the third place team so now we're both tied at only one game back. However, that will change with an important matchup this week. We'll be squaring off on the virtual gridiron to battle it out for sole possession of second place. Well, if our first place team loses (doubtful) then there will be a tie for first place and this week's loser will remain in second.
As you can see above, I'm currently a 6.6 point underdog in this matchup. There are a couple roster changes I could make but I'm not sure what I'll do yet. My whole team plays on Sunday so it will likely be a gameday decision. I can replace Desean Jackson with a second TE in Jack Doyle who is projected to score more points but not by much.
I think DJAX probably has a much better shot at surpassing his projections since the Buccaneers will be facing Washington this week. The Redskins have a very stout run defense but a bottom-end pass D so I have a feeling whoever is at the helm for Tampa will be airing the ball out come Sunday. I'd be kicking myself in the head if I replace him and he gets another 50+ yard passing TD while Jack Doyle turns in a meager 5 to 7 point game.
If we had a true flex position in this league instead of a WR/TE I'd certainly stick Tarik Cohen in there and pull out Sanu probably. Sanu is a gamble just like DJAX but I think Jackson has a much higher ceiling and Sanu's floor is much lower.
My crazy dream of an undefeated fantasy football season was shattered to pieces last week by BroCEO. After giving him a good spanking in Week 2 (199 - 134), he returned the favor and was the first team to put a loss up on the board for me. On the positive side, at least I'm still sitting in first place coming into Week 10!
After the loss last week the second place team thebull is now only one game behind me.
This week I'll be facing off against a 3 - 5 team in House Stark. Currently he has yet to fill a few BYE spots on his roster including the QB, W/R and DEF positions but hopefully he hasn't given up on his team yet and will make the appropriate roster changes. Although, he will need to make some moves on the waiver wire to pick up a QB and DEF as there are no backups on his bench currently.
If not, it should be an easy win for me but I much rather play against a full roster - nobody likes to win like that. The playoffs are just around the corner so I hope there is some good competition for the remainder of the regular season. Good luck in your leagues this week!
