We are nearly halfway through the 2018 NFL season, and just like the real league, the Socurm Fantasy Football League is starting to sort itself out. The real teams are seperating themselves from the pretenders, but there is still time for each team to make the moves they need to in order to win the championship.

Let's get into week 7!

Week 7 Summary

I ran into a tough matchup this week as my team simply wasn't (and isn't) good enough to keep up @thebull who beat me by 50 full points. Swolesome seems to be turning things around with a nice win against Team Gentulee. We face off against each other this week and I'm not too sure which way this matchup will go.

Elsewhere in the league we had several teams break out of slumps. Team Lemark and LA Mateos had fantastic weeks with 154.9 and 135 points respectively. Pete also had a great week with 126 points, moving to 3-4 and staying within striking distance of an eventual playoff spot.

As for top performing fantasy players (you know, the real NFL guys), the Patriots RB James White (29.7 points), Kareem Hunt (37.1 points), Patrick Mahomes (32.8 points), Marlon Mack (31.9 points), and Todd Gurley (30.6) all had fantastic weeks.

Standings After Week 7

With the win, @thebull moves up into the playoffs knocking me down to 3rd in the East, just above @pete (Scorum Legends). The Awesome Dawgs are still top dogs in the West but Swolesome and Lemark are just a game behind.

Week 7 Awards

Best Team: Team Lemark (154.9)

Team Lemark had a week that fantasy owners dream about with an incredible 154.9 points. Not a single one of his offensive starters (not including kicker or defense) scored less than 10 points. Tight end Trey Burton from Chicago led the way with 9 catches for 126 yards and a touchdown, which was good enough for 27.6 points.

Worst Team: Team Silwal 66.9

With three players in the starting lineup who weren't playing, Team Silwal didn't stand a chance. Hopefully next week Team Silwal will update his roster!

Most Unlucky Team: None!

This was the first week of the season where each team got what they deserved. There were no bad beats or really close high-scoring games.

Tips for Week 8

  • Tennessee, Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas, and Atlanta all have bye weeks. If you have players on these teams, take them out of your lineups.
  • The highest scoring games this weekend appear to be Green Bay vs. LA Rams (57 O/U), Tampa Bay vs. Cincinnati (54 O/U), and New Orleans vs. Minnesota (52 O/U). If deciding between a couple different players for a single spot, consider players from these games.
  • Amari Cooper was traded from Oakland to Dallas, where he should get more opportunities after learning a bit more about their offense. It may take a couple weeks to gel with quarterback Dak Prescott.
