I am thrilled to announce my 175th Scorum Sports Cast! You can find me @thesportsguru and I will be giving you the best 5-10 minute sports rants here on Scorum every day. On today’s episode I will talk about the greatest NFL player of all-time.

But first, I must give props when props are due. Congrats to the Los Angeles Lakers on a HUGE road win last night in Oklahoma City. Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball played great and I think that all of these games without Lebron James are actually a good thing so these young pups can grow. The Lakers have a brutal schedule over the next 41 days but if Kuzma and Ball can play consistently at this high of a level, the Lakers will be just fine…but that is a big if IMO.

Ok, on Sunday we are going to see Tom Brady in his 8th straight AFC Championship Game. Brady has already won five rings and even though he is 41 years old, he is showing no signs of slowing down. A big reason for that is his incredible commitment to working out and training. Brady has an entire program called TB-12 that he has created with his trainer that he credits for his fantastic health and high performance at this advance age.

Regardless of what happens on Sunday, is Tom Brady already the greatest NFL player of all-time?

Someone else comes to my mind when I ask that question, and it is not another quarterback.

Jerry Rice is either at or near the top of this discussion in my opinion. There is no doubt that he is the best wide receiver ever and I really think he deserves strong consideration as the best NFL player of all-time.

Odell Beckham Jr. has become famous over the last few years because of his incredible one handed catches. But Jerry Rice was doing this 30 years ago. He had the best hands and ran the cleanest routes that the NFL has ever seen. And the work ethic of Jerry Rice was off the charts good. Like Tom Brady, Jerry Rice was one of the hardest working players in the league which allowed him to play for 20 years. Check out this video of him talking about “The Hill.”

He still runs this on a daily basis even though he hung up the cleats over a decade ago.

Rice holds several NFL records and has won three rings. But is that enough?

Who is your G.O.A.T.? Joe Montana? Lawrence Taylor? Walter Payton?

I would love to tell you all about it in my new Scorum Sports Cast. To check out my 175th show just click the play button below. I look forward to hearing your input and comments. Cheers!
