On Sunday, December 10th, 1922, the 1922 NFL season concluded with the Canton Bulldogs holding the best regular season record at 10-0-2 to win the third championship in NFL history, while the Chicago Bears took the runner-up spot with a 9-3 record. It was the first of two championships for the Bulldogs franchise, as well as the first season under the NFL name.

Jimmy Conzelman of the Rock Island Independents and Milwaukee Badgers and Guy Chamberlin of the Canton Bulldogs tied for the league lead in touchdowns scored during the season with seven.
