The head coach of the New Jersey Devils John Hynes was fired on Tuesday. Assistant coach Alain Nasreddine is his replacement.
When approached Nasreddine said "Lot of emotions, lot of mixed emotions". He continued with "I just found out a couple of hours ago, so a lot goes through your mind. I can't help but think about John and the relationship we've had the last 10 years, and those are not great circumstances. It is an opportunity, but you know it's [going to] take time to settle in, but we have a game to win tonight, so that's where the focus is right now."
Hynes was 150-159-45 in five seasons with the Devils and was the fifth longest-tenured coach in the NHL.
