Been a rough start to the week for the Oiler's as they've racked up two losses in two days. First they dropped a real turd of a game in Washington and followed that up with some incredibly bad luck in Tampa Bay. Not what the club was looking for.

On Monday the Oiler's were in Washington to play the Capitals. The Oiler's came out slow and stayed slow all night. It was one of those games that I found myself losing interest in right away. Sometimes you just know your team is going to lose as soon as a game starts and that's how I felt on Monday. Washington is a good club, they won the Stanley Cup last year, but they aren't in a tier above the Oiler's this year and it was disappointing to see the club not be able to compete.

Today the club went down to Tampa Bay to face off against the best club in the Eastern Conference. Tampa Bay beat the Oiler's 5-2 but they game felt much closer than that. there were numerous instances where the Oiler's had goals absolutely robbed from them. I can picture four plays that almost always result in a goal but today somehow they stayed out of the net. Sometimes you need a bit of puck luck and the Oiler's clearly did not have any today. A few posts, pucks swept off the goal line at the last second and unreal diving saves. Most nights you get at least one of those goals to go in the back of the net but the Oiler's weren't so lucky tonight.

Oiler's now sit at 8-6-1 after 15 games, that's still pretty damn good. The club will need to put an end to this little losing skid and should be the favorites in their next game against Florida on Thursday.
