Belfour used the number 20 as a starter with the Dallas Stars from 1997 to 2002, including the Stars’ Stanley Cup winning run in 1999. Belfour also used the number with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 2002 through 2006, as well as the Florida Panthers in 2006-07.

Hextall amassed 255 wins during this time, earning a Vezina Trophy in 1987, leading the league with 37 wins and scoring five 30-win seasons.

Dryden won six Stanley Cups in with the Montreal Canadiens in 1971, 1973 and then four straight from 1976-79, all as a starter, during his tenure from 1970 to 1979 before leaving to pursue a broadcasting career.

Other Stanley Cup winning goaltenders using 29 include Mike Vernon, who won in 1997 with the Detroit Red Wings, and Marc-Andre Fleury, who won with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009.

Dryden’s number 29 was retired by the Canadiens in 2007.
