Lagos Scorum Meetup 2.0: Few Turned up and hopefully many more will turn up in the future.
Some weeks ago, I put out an eventbrite.com event for scorum. I wanted to host 15 people at Dominos Pizza but only two people turned up.
I will host another on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Click here to indicate your interest and confirm your attendance.
I hosted them and helped them register. Afterwards, I encouraged them to tell their friends about the possibility that Scorum holds.
Then, yesterday, I talked to a few of their friends who were excited about Scorum. They wanted to know about Scorum so I explained the whole concept in my living room.
Initially, I booked a spot at Dominos Pizza for 15 people but when only six showed up, I extended the booking till Saturday, 18th of August where I hope to have more people show up and then I'll use the booking.
Yesterday, I hosted Adewole, Oni, Lara, Dami, Bayowa and Gbenja. Of all of them, Adewole was the only one who could succesfully open an account on my computer. The others had challenge as they did not receive notification on their phones.
Lara had to attend hurriedly to something so she left the meetup. I was able to take a shot with her before she left.
However, I told them to give it a try at home and if it doesn't work out, I'll help them out in our next meeting on Saturday.
@dreamteam10 couldn't make it.
In case you reside in Lagos and you are interested in attending the next Scorum meetup, feel free to drop a comment here or register via the eventbrite link.
If we have more people than Dominos can take, we would have to make another arrangement at a more spacious and conducive arena for the meetup.
Currently, I've reached out to two gyms and I'm attending two Blockchain events on Wednesday and Friday at Lekki in Lagos.
Many crypto/tech events request payments as high as 50,000 naira in order to pitch a presentation. That's about $190. I can't pay such money now. I'll be able to do that when payout in SCR occurs.
I have printed two shirts for myself and I intend to print more for attendees and teammates as time goes on. I also printed a banner which can be used at future events.
Taking pictures with people is a bit difficult
Many people get withdrawn the moment you introduce something new to them and you are asking for a picture.
Pitching a presentation/hosting one is one of the best ways to get pictures.
Note: I'm open to suggestions on how I can present Scorum in a better way. For now, I'm ordering some T-Shirts and Soccer training Bibs and I'm printing on them to make publicity about Scorum.
My goal is to support the Nigerian and African community at large.
Up Scorum.
Here are pictures.
