Nepal is destination for many extreme and adventurous sports, and I will try to cover them gradually in upcoming Scorum posts. But for today, let us look at Bungee jumping, an extreme in which you jump from the height with rope tied to your ankle.

From Wikipedia:

Bungee jumping is an extreme sport in which people jump from higher ground such as a bridge with an elastic rope tied to their ankles to stop them from hitting the ground. The rope is designed to stretch, not break. When the rope has stretched all the way, the jumper bounces back up. When people jump they wear safety equipment like helmets and a harness

To the north of capital of Nepal, there is the world's third highest natural bungee jump, and it is located on a suspension bridge above the Bhote Kosi River. It is 160 m above the river., and is the highest bungee jump in Nepal. It is just 3 hours drive from capital, and one of the popular destination for the adventure sports lover. If you ever decide to come to Nepal, please remember to include adventurous sports in your list and don't miss bungee jumping.

It is located in the last resort, and I have been there once when I was around 10. It was intimidating for me even to walk in that bridge. It was so high, and the river was so deep. But bungee jumping here at Bhote Koshi river is on my bucket from that day.

People say that for bungee jumping, you should either be crazy or nuts or mad or all of these. It requires lots of courage to do and only few people have guts for it. You need to have big and daring heart to accomplish this. None of my friends have done it, but we always discuss about doing it one day.

Here is one of the best video I found on bungee jumping in Nepal. I hope you will enjoy it:
