Today I want to talk about the future of sports. At the modern time we are used to most sports be in physical form. People go to a place. Play against someone else. You have an audience watching. All of this restricts people that can see that game happen. Because you have to be physically there. Or if it’s a big game you can watch it on TV or a Livestream but it usually requires a subscription. So it restricts people that can be involved in that current event. What happens if you digitise it? And let everyone be a part of a sports event with virtual Reality?

Of course you can still have the physical experience the players if they mount VR headsets on themselves and have a large enough room to move around in. You would be able to make it so the crowd also is wearing VR headsets but that they can sit still or tune in to any of the sports players current view. Stuff that currently holds back mainstream adoption at the moment is that the cost of VR headset is still pretty expensive. Around the price of a high-end phone. But eventually the cost will go down and eventually it would be able to be given out for free.

At the moment with physical sports in various countries it massively restricts people’s access to it. Since every country has their own TV system that is limited for outsiders. But sports is going global just as other emerging markets. If you digitise the whole event then you would be able to reward every player and viewer with digital Tokens that in a fast way can be transformed into Fiat money. This would make sports be able to grow so much since every loves the idea of earning + Having fun. A big reason why not more are involved in a sports is because it would take too much time and that you have to be an elite player to live on it.

But if you digitise sports even regular people would be able to earn a full time income by using their creativity and combine it with the favourite sports that they love. Clearly most sports can be digitised. Some will need a big room. Others would need less space. Humans are moving less these days so most sports in a digital way would be possible in a smaller to medium size room.

I’m very curious to see how Sports and Technology will work together side by side in the future. Clearly with smart tech you can combine both the physical and the digital. It can be win-win for everyone. For example imagine the audience being the referee for the games being played. By using Tokenized voting. This would involve the watchers so much more. And it would be a much more engaging process.
