Baijanathpur Hub is uncertain to complete at the moment. Due to the allocation of low budget, the works has been stopped and further works has not started for the stadium. Morang is one of the district of Nepal which is located in Biratnagar.

There were plans to construct international cricket stadium and international football stadium for Morang in this place. Also Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball Courts, swimming pool as well as multipurpose halls was to be constructed.

National Sports Council(NSC) had proposed theses plans to make Morang as a sports hub for the eastern region of Nepal. Unfortunately, National Sports Council as well as the Government of Nepal did not included this in their future plans and seems like this project will be failure without the availability of the funds for the project.

NSC says, Central Government allocated low budget so the work progress is slowing down. One of the senior says, only 1 crore Nepali Rupees is allocated for this year, Work can be done only if there is money.

There were several constructions to be done at the same time including all stadiums at the same period. There were estimations of more than 5 arab to complete this project but only 1 crore was allocated.

When can we expect to complete this project with such delays ?

How much work has been completed ?

During the 7th National Sports Competition, Shooting, Tennis and Cricket competitions were held in the Baijnathpur Hub. During that period, a cricket stadium, shooting building and Tennis Court was constructed.

After that period, all the construction works has been stopped. The maintenance of the already made assets has not be done as well. The official building made near the entrance premises has been made small by the negligience of the concerned stakeholders. While on the place of football stadium, it looks like a orphan as the ground is being depleted every day. Though, on the places where rain disturbs is being cleared on a constant basis.

A multipurpose hall to be constructed within this place has been sanctioned Rs. 5 crore by the state government.

There were plans to make this available for 5000 spectators but neither the DPR has been made nor the modality how will it be constructed.

When will the works be completed ?

This is the hardest question to answer at the moment. Since, neither NSC nor government of Nepal knows this answer. If only, crore budget is allocated every year, probably this work will never be accomplished and it will be a failure.

Let's hope this project will be completed and we can travel there to visit international matches as well as domestic matches. Every sports lover will like to support the sports activities within their country, so am I.
