For those who follow poker and are fans of great content provided by poker pros then the name Alec Torelli should ring a bell. I only follow a select few on social media just based off who and what contributes to my growth as an individual the most; long gone are the days where I just follow and listen to anyone who just pops up in front of my computer screen...

At one point, I was fine with saying that Alec Torelli was among a select few poker pros I enjoyed listening to because his level of knowledge and expertise in the game of poker is superior to many. I found much joy in watching his catchy theme openers from his videos and his witty analysis for the breakdown of poker hands; however, not too long ago I came across a thread, and then a video posted by poker pro Doug Polk that depicted Alec Torelli as a possible angle shooter. I dug deeper and had found a poker video of Alec Torelli casting himself in a very different light under my eyes due to some very questionable actions he made during a hand he played on Poker Night In America. I could go on and on about what Torelli shouldn't and should have done during the hand but it was what took place after the game that offended me the most and ultimately compelled me to write this article.

Nothing will change the fact that he ran the full amount. He should have just run up to what wasn't hidden and that's it.
He shouldn't have made the video and all that showing off his "superior reading ability". That's why he looks like an angling douchebag. Not because the chips were "hidden" but because he was such a scumbag about it after.
I still don't understand how he doesn't get that fact? Nobody cares about the hidden chips as much as they care about how he handled himself during the entire thing. He was a giant douche about the whole thing and he deserves the backlash 100%...
...
Precisely, it's crazy that he was so greedy. He sacrificed his integrity for one pot. The fact that he ran the full amount and during the hand was all like, "well those are the rules, I don't think we can do anything different" shows that he was either purposefully deceptive or just plain greedy. Really there is no way he didn't know what he was doing was wrong. If he was truely remorseful, he had a great opportunity to show everyone that he's a super cool guy. He continually looks like an asshole. Everytime it comes up, he has to pull this babe in the woods routine. It must be taxing. I use to watch Alex torelli videos, but I stopped immediately after I saw this. I just didn't have any desire to fuck with him anymore.

The comments above came from a couple of disgruntled reddit users over Alec Torreli's explanation video of what went down during the controversial hand at Poker Night In America - a video in which I would be too embarrassed to post here mainly because of the non-genuine remarks and overly long explanation attempts made by Alec Torreli; whether he was being truthful or not it was too cringeworthy to watch him pry away at parts of a story that had little to do with the situation at hand.

Did Alec Torelli ANGLESHOOT An Amateur On Television?

Now Imagine This: You're witnessing a crime scene unfold and you watch the criminal carefully perpetrate himself by tearing off a $4.99 price tag off of a jar of pickles he picked up from isle 5 and replacing it with a $2.50 price tag. You also watch him call over for supermarket attendees to ask them for their recommendation for which pickles to buy while knowing full well that he had already made up his mind and was just trying to make small talk to casually make his way to the cash register to not seem suspicious. After the criminal successfully pays and gets off with the jar of pickles that he lowballed the supermarket for you then decide to walk up to the criminal and ask him, why did he switch price tags? He answers you by saying "well, I know that these pickles used to be much cheaper back in the day when I was growing up and so I felt that adjusting the price to what I felt it was really valued made much more sense for me to buy. I was just trying to be smart about how and why I spend my money." Good answer right? (Sarcasm)... When you think about it, this criminal seems pretty well off and actually when you look into it, he turns out to be pretty well known and loved around the neighborhood. You just can't fathom why in the world this wealthy, beloved, and talented guy would criminalize himself over a jar of pickles and then explain why as if he was in the right the whole time which is even more insulting.

Given circumstances like these it's always best to keep check on those who influence you and how much you let them get away with. I can't say I've always been wise enough to follow the right people and to know right from wrong, but based upon my research, the content videos/threads, and Alec Torelli's overall demeanor about the situation I'm forced to make a judgement of his character, which is something I didn't want to do for the benefit of my entertainment but no longer could I just sit back and look at Torelli as the same good hearted poker pro I once knew him to be.

Even though I've discontinued from watching Alec Torelli's content and have stopped following him on social media I only want to encourage others to use this article as a reminder that you have should always question the actions of those who influence you most. Do not turn ever turn a blind eye to what seems most obvious and corrupt even from those you love.

Thank you for reading...

btw, if you could come up with your own analogy (or 'Now Imagine This' scenario ) of Alec Torelli's situation, then please, be my guest as I only hope that I got my point across.
