With Scorum being a sports blogging platform and a betting platform I thought it would be fun to start a bet amongst the poker players. The reason for this post is to put out some feelers and see if anyone else would be interested. Hopefully some advice from the Scorum Pros also.
My main question to Scorum and the Scorum poker community is would you be interested in participating in a last longer bet?
What is a last longer bet you ask? A last longer bet is exactly what it sounds like, a side bet made between tournament Players. Whoever lasts the longest in the tournament wins the bet.
Of course, there are a few rules to a last longer bet.
- First off, the agreed-upon wager must be in the pot before the tournament starts. You cannot decide during the tournament that you want to buy in.
- Secondly, once you entered the bet you cannot get your entry fee back. Just because you start running bad doesn't mean you're going to get a refund.
- Typically a last longer bet is winner-takes-all. But if it gets down to the last few people and they want to split that's completely up to the players.
Last longer bets add an extra level of fun, excitement and competitiveness to the tournament. The more that enter the better and the sweeter the pot will be for the winner!
I'm also curious on how much of a bet everyone would feel comfortable making. Off the top of my head, I think 1 SCR is a good starting point. But if you think that is too small or too big please let me know.
My last question is directed more to the Scorum Pros. With me being new to this platform I'm looking for Direction on the best way to put this bet together. I'm just starting to get familiar with the blogging side of the platform but I'm very unfamiliar with the betting side of the platform. The idea I had was to start another Scorum account. Name it something like SPL last longer bet. This account would make posts on which tournaments will have a last longer bet and would manage the collection and distribution of the SCR. No fee of course all for fun.
Please let me know in the comments what you think and if you know of a person that can help guide me in the best way to set it up. See you at the tables!
Thanks, HOP
