Life is not fair to anyone and that’s why a lot of people are really suffering out there. It’s a sad truth that we are born to struggle, compete, chase and do whatever we can to help us get a name, money, fame, respect and anything more than anyone else. If you were born with a silver spoon, you may have no idea of how a lot of hopeless people are out there struggling for clothes and shelter.
I’m happy that the advent of blockchain blogging platforms offers the chance to give life to the lifeless and hope to the hopeless. It however gives some people the chance to gain financial freedom and give to people what their government could not give them.
If we will not deceive ourselves, anybody that claims to be on this platform without the intention of making money is only deceiving himself. Oh yeah! You heard me right. Everybody needs money and that’s why we are here. Although, it may not be your utmost priority to make money, at least it should be one of it.
I observe that some people see blockchain blogging platforms as other lousy social media such as Instagram, Facebook and the likes where we only hit the like button to people we are only familiar with, or let me say to the people we can only benefit from. While others like to be begged for upvotes, others blatantly will not upvote at all. When you check a platform like steemit, you will see that it has become almost impossible to get a natural because the system is dominated by greedy and stingy individuals. What could be as heartbreaking as seeing someone read your post, leaves a comment, upvotes it and then take a walk?
This world is full of people who care much about themselves but care less about others. We have people like that in our government and top positions. Everybody wants to be above the other and thus withholding their help or any vital information that could make the other person surpass them. Although, I know that everyone is selfish by one way or the other, or better put, everyone has at a point been selfish, but if one should be selfish, it should not be caring less about other people.
Where am I really heading to?
I see upvoting as business, a very profitable one at that. When you upvote someone’s post, you aren’t losing any SP neither is any SCR leaving your wallet. The only thing that happens is that your SP reduces and replenishes after a few hours or days. The good news is that, after 7 days, the author is being rewarded while the blockchain also rewards you for your benevolence. That’s how it works
As Scorum grows, we are going to be having a lot of people who will fall into the following categories.
i. People who are jobless and circumstances have led them to Scorum
ii. People from third world countries who are living under abject poverty
iii. People who are suffering from health challenges but need money for cure.
iv. People whose source of livelihood lies on their SCR payout
v. People who need money for their education
I can go and on to mention a lot of people with different challenges in life but let me stop here. I believe living a fulfilled life is not measured by the number of cars you’re able to acquire or the number of the houses you’re able to build, but by your impact in the lives of the people who need help most. Life becomes easy when we learn to support people and stop being concerned about ourselves alone.
You don’t have an excuse for stingy on the Scorum platform. Even if it’s just 5 SP you have, don’t hesitate to use it to encourage someone. When you run out of SP, you could use your comment to motivate them. It could go a long way in helping that person’s situation, who knows? You can’t keep your SP at 90+ always and claim you’re helping people. Even if you will not be online, just spare 5 minutes of your time to come online, check one or two posts and hit the upvote button. By so doing, you’ve helped someone on the Scorum platform for the day.
Our currencies have more value than the other. A $3 upvote could be worthless in your eyes but when converted to other people’s local currency, it could feed them for a day. Oooh yeah! Some of us belong to such countries where our currency has no much value compared to hard currency.
In my own part of the world, an average citizen lives below $1 per day and this is to tell you how terrible things are in some climes. I see a lot of people in this part of the world laboring for $2 a day and I feel sorry for them.
My point is that, most of us know that Scorum has the ability to change the lives of many people yet we never know whether our upvote or comment could really make a difference. I was reading @brandok’s $10 giveaway post yesterday and I rushed into the post with the hope of participating, but when I began to read people’s challenges, I lost interest in participating and I was moved to tears what people could be passing through. This made me realize that, no matter how much you think that your situation, yours is still a child’s play compared to that of others
Have you been stingy with your upvote? Have you been concerned about yourself alone?
It’s time to have a rethink. Making money is happiness but making other people happy is super happiness. Of course nobody can tell you how to use the SP you bought with your own money but one thing you should know is that, while you’re thinking of making more profits, you should also find a way to give back to the people. With that, the platform will serve its purpose.
I respect individuals here who have been making out time to give back to the people in a little way they can
No one has ever become poor by giving hope to the hopeless
I drop my pen at this juncture.
I don't know if this write-up makes sense to someone
Thank you and have a nice day😎
