Hey Scorum friends! I hope you enjoyed the video. I am a video guy, I am much more comfortable creating videos then I am writing articles. With that said I do enjoy writing articles and will definitely continue to write them, but from time to time I think I will throw in a video everyone now and then, hopefully you all don't mind. :)
I thought I would make a Marketing/Scorum Journey video on my variety channel on YouTube. To sum up what I spoke about in the video, I was mainly introducing my followers on YouTube to Scorum as well as giving a few tips to newbies like me on how to succeed. Although I am new here (two weeks, as of this post), I am not new to this format, and all the same principles apply. I also talk about my journey so far on Scorum. I really enjoy this platform, it is a nice creative outlet for me. And it gives me an opportunity to talk about sports. No Judgement, Just Sports...haha sounds like a Nike ad or something. I am active on Steemit, but don't talk about Sports over there. I from time to time talk about sports with friends on Facebook or in person, but not to the extent that I have been doing it here. Also I have never been much of a journal writer, and since I usually have personal experiences to share this becomes a "kill two birds with one stone" kind of thing. A win win situation if you ask me.
Here are a few tips I would like to give, one newbie to the next, or a refresher for the seasoned veterans:
Tip 1: Be Active
Sounds like a no-brainer right? If you aren't posting content and not upvoting or commenting it will be hard to succeed here on Scorum. Same rules apply to pretty much any other social media type platform, but here you have an opportunity to earn rewards. :) Find other bloggers that post articles that interest you, read them, make nice genuine comments an keep at it.
Tip 2: Blog from the Heart
I personally find it much more satisfying to blog about things that I am passionate about and that interest me. I happen to have a wide range of interests so I usually can find something fun to talk about. If you try and force a post, because you think that is what people want to read about it will probably wind uMyp showing in your writing.
Tip 3: Networking
I have been on Steemit for over 8 months now, and I wasn't very successful at the beginning. Why? Because I wasn't networking. Get active in Discord chats, reach out to other members here on Scorum, don't be afraid to introduce yourself in your first comment that you write on someone's post.
Tip 4: Introduce Yourself
Make sure at some point you make a nice introduction about yourself. The type of information you give is totally up to you. Also take a picture with you holding a piece of paper with the word "Scorum" on it, and maybe your username, date, etc. This is called a verification and let's others know that you are indeed who you say you are.
Tip 5: Make it Pretty
This blogging platform is so easy to use when it comes to formatting. If you aren't sure what looks good browse around at other successful people's posts, to see how they format things. Add bolded lettering, italics, quotes, pictures, etc. Eye candy helps keep the reader engaged. :)
There are plenty of more things that you can do but I will leave it at that for now. I am no expert I am still learning as I go, but those are things that I have learned already being here on Scorum as well as my time over on Steemit.
A Special Thanks
Also in the video I named people here on Scorum who have been particularly nice and welcoming to me, and have supported me so far in this journey.
- Lydia Alpha was the person that told me about Scorum she has been here on the platform for a few more days then I have. You should follow her, she is awesome.
- Liuke96player was one of the first persons to welcome me and has supported me a bunch. He writes all kinds of great articles. Check out his blog.
- Pete was also one of the first people to follow and support me. He was extremely welcoming. He is very knowledgeable about sports, always has a great post to read.
- Satoshi again was an early supporter of mine, I wish he would post a little more, his blogs are awesome! His latest one on the 3D Printed Scorum Logo is amazing.
- MindBlast is great. He is filipino and posts mainly about the Sports happening in the Philippines. I alway like his posts, I lived for 2 years in the Philippines, so it is always nice to hear about that country which was my second home for awhile.
- Nhl was an early support of mine, and really appreciated my Verification post. I wish he would post more. :)
- Mikey always has a great post to share on a variety of topics. He isn't afraid to get personal. It has been cool getting to know him, if you want to read some amazing professional style posts, read his stuff. He knows how to write!
- Broncofan99 is one of my friends from Steemit. I have known him for awhile now. He to is a magnificent writer, don't let his name throw you off if you aren't a Denver Broncos fan, he posts about all kinds of things. 49ers vs Broncos in the Super Bowl? I think that rematch would be awesome.
- Brandonk was an early supporter and welcomed me to Scorum. His posts are always brilliant and usually have to do with the MMA or Boxing. I always enjoy reading his posts.
- Hassan wrote one of my favorite articles. In one of his posts he writes about Archery from horseback. I love archery, and that gave me the idea to write my own post about it.
- Cicbar hasn't posted in awhile, but always supports my posts, I am super grateful for that. :)
- bamamama is so nice! She always has great posts about College football. If you like American Football and particularly college football, you should follow her for sure!
These are just a few that I wanted to point out, but I am so grateful for everyone that supports me and upvotes my content and leaves me a comment.
Thanks for watching the video and listening to me ramble on, haha. :)

Matt aka @bayareasportsfan
