The 2018 Asian Para Games will be held in Jakarta on 6-13 October 2018. Para-Swimmer athlete, Jendi Pangabean targets a gold medal for Indonesia at the 2018 Asian Para Games.
Jendi is one of 28 disable swimmers who entered the national training camp to prepare for the 2018 Asian Para Games in Solo. He has been a regular gold medalist since the 2013 Myanmar SEA Games until 2017 Asian Para Games in Malaysia, this make him consistently in the national team.
He is currently one of the fastest para-swimmers in Southeast Asia. He is the winner of five gold medals at the Asian Para Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur. Without his left foot, he was able to score at least four new records for Indonesia.
Jendi was born with two legs. However, in 2004, when he was 12 years old, he was involved in a motorcycle accident and his left leg had to be amputated. For Jendi who only has one leg, physical limitations or imperfections do not become obstacles to achievement. Jendi also proved that nothing was impossible if everyone had confidence.
Welcoming Asian Para Games 2018, Jendi has participated in the Test event which took place on June 27 - July 3 in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Senayan. At the Test event session, Jendi had a time record on specialist number 100 back S9 1.06, 54 seconds.
