My prediction that upcoming Korean tennis star Hyeong Chung would win the Atlanta ATP went down the pan within a day of me writing about it. Of all players to be beaten by, he went and lost to Ryan Harrison... I have followed Ryan Harrison over the past 5 years and he is not the best or worst of players. So for Hyeong Chung to loose to Harrison is a poor result for him. I'd have understood a narrow defeat to Isner or Kygrios but not Harrison.

By the way this is the same Ryan Harrison who this year lost terribly to Great Britain's Jay Clarke 6-4, 6-1 (ranked 225 in the world), Germany's Maximilian Marterer 6-1, 6-3, 7-5 (ranked 47 in the world), Argentina's Federico Delbonis 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 (ranked 82 in the world) and a US team mate Reilly Opelka 7-6, 7-6 (ranked 156 in the world) you get the picture. Harrison can hold serve better than many players on his day leading to awkward tie breaks with opponents, but an in form Chung should still be doing better than this.

Chung has not lost to a player outside the top 40 on tour since his storming run in the Australian Open up until now. And this is his worst defeat of the year so far.

But that's the game of tennis for you, on any day a player can have a sparkling performance against his run of form where as another can suddenly drop their level. Clearly Chung isn't ready to return to the form that saw him reach the Semi finals of the Australian Open in January, but who knows maybe that form was just a flash in the pan.

Kyrgios Tanks Against an Unlikely Brit!

Hours later in Atlanta Nick Kyrgios tanked against an unlikely opponent in the form of Britain's second best player Cameron Norrie. Norrie who has won three challenger tournaments this year had never got past the second round of an ATP tournament up until Lyon in this years clay season, where he beat John Isner in the Quarter Final's before unfortunately bowing out to Gilles Simon in the Semi's. So is another Isner meeting on the cards for Norrie in Atlanta? I wouldn't say no, and neither would I say no to the chance of Norrie claiming an unlikely Atlanta ATP title now. That would be a massive win for the 22 year old!

Someone once said, 'Stats Don't Lie'. They certainly did here!
