Agnieszka Radwanska advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament in Eastbourne without the game. On Tuesday, she beat Dania Gawriłowa in the second round. On Wednesday, she was about to play with Pete Kvitova, but Kvitova withdrew from the competition.
Agnieszka Radwanska returned to the game after a long break caused by an injury. In Eastborune she built up condition for the upcoming Grand Slam Wimbledon. On Monday, Pole faced with Hungarian Timea Babos and quite easily won 6:3, 6:1.
In the second match, Radwanska's rival was Daria Gawriłowa. Australian, who in this tournament was seeded with the number 15, in the first round had a free fate. In the first set, the rival won 7:5, but in the second set "Isia" (diminutive of Agnieszka) was better and won after the tie-break. The third part again belonged to Poland, this time Radwanska won 6:0.
In the third round, Pole was about to face Petra Kvitova. Czech, who was considered one of the main favorites of this event, was seeded with number 3. The match was scheduled for Wednesday at 13:30. Earlier, however, it was reported that Kvitova withdrew from the tournament. This means that Radwanska was promoted to the quarterfinals without a game.
The "Isi"'s rival in the 1/4 finals will be Jelena Ostpaneko. The Latvian won with Romania Mihaela Buzarnescu. The matches of this phase will be played on Thursday.
