For this round of Europa League I chose to bet on the game between Besiktas vs. Partizan Belgrade.

Besiktas:

  • Has a total market value of 82,10 millions euros. The most valued player: Domagoj Vida (Centre-Back), 29 years old: 12 millions euros.
  • Squad average age: 27,6.
  • Has the first chance to qualify because of that goal scored in the first game and even with a 0-0 they would get into groups.
  • They started the new season quite good, especially because they has reached this stage of the competition.
  • They lost in the last round of the Super League, being defeated at home by Antalyaspor, but everyone it's more focused on this duel.
  • They won the last 6 home games of Europa League during the regular time, despite the fact that Lyon or Olympiakos were among the opponents.

Partizan:

  • Has a total market value of 24,60 millions euros. The most valued player: Zoran Tosic (Right Winger), 31 years old: 2 millions euros.
  • Squad average age: 25,8.
  • They are already playing the 8 game this season's competition.
  • They eliminated on their way to play-off: Rudar, Trakai and Nordsjaelland.
  • I do not think they will have much chances in Istanbul, especially since in the home match they failed to win.

  • However, we must not forget that in the previous edition they qualified in groups and even in the spring of Europe, so it would be able to surprise.

With a very solid team and a few well known european players, Besiktas can not afford to be eliminated by Partizan and certainly will play hard to qualify. I think Besiktas will eventually succeed, but as a show, I do not think we will see more than 3 goals scored.
