Premier League Picks
The Reverend prediction model has already made its picks for the first game week of the Premier League, but I've decided to run the model again with the updated odds.
Manchester United to win went from 1.485 to 1.520 and Arsenal to win went from 3.190 to the current 3.940. The model's picks have not changed. You can compare the current with the opening odds here.
Championship Picks
The model mostly follows the bookies here with a few exceptions such as:
- QPR to win @2.860
- Bolton to win @2.960
- Ipswich to win @3.170
I've got some success the last season by scaling down the model's picks. For example, instead of playing Bolton @2.96 I would play Bolton +0 @2.04.
League One Picks
The model's picks for the first game week of the League One were profitable. For this game week we have some interesting picks such as:
- Plymouth @2.810
- Bradford @3.280
- Blackpool @3.000
- Burton @2.719
League Two Picks
For the League Two, the bookies went one way and my model the other. It would be interesting to see if this is just a miscalculation or the model knows something that the bookies don't.
National League Picks
The model's picks mirror those of the bookies for the most part with the exception of the Chesterfield v Braintree game where it picks Braintree @6.870. I'll monitor this game to see if the model is onto something here.
The End
You've got 58 picks in the top 5 levels of the English Football.
As always, take these picks with a grain of salt and never bet the money you can't afford to lose. I'll be back (most likely this Monday) with the performance report.
Until then, thank you for reading and good luck!
