I was waiting for Indian Super League (ISL) matches to be included on betscorum. As you all will be well aware I do not have much knowledge about soccer, let alone the various leagues that are played around the world. I understand cricket and that is what I write about most of the time with maybe a post about Scorum interspersed in between., As cricket has not yet been included on our betting platform, I decided to start my journey with a bet on the ISL match which featured just this morning on the betting platform. The reason I chose to bet on a soccer match is that I have some knowledge of the teams that play in the ISL and how they have performed this year.

In Brief ISL-

The ISL was launched in 2014. In the first season, only eight teams participated in the tournament. Actually, the tournament was meant to have ten teams participating but two of the franchises backed out at the last moment and the league started the tournament with eight teams. It was in 2017-8 season that the strength of the teams was increased to ten in number. Initially, the ISL season lasted for lasted to between two or three months. But later, since the 2017-18 season the schedule starting getting longer with windows in between the matches, The windows are to accommodate the FIFA matches that are played by the national teams, particularly the Indian players.

ATK and Chennaiyin have both won the tournament twice since its inception. They both held the title for alternate years, beginning with ATK winning it in the inaugural tournament in 2014-15. Chennaiyin FC is the current holder of the ISL trophy.

My First Bet-

I placed my first bet today’s ISL fixture between Kerala Blasters and ATK. This was my first bet that I ever placed anywhere online. I decided to start small with an amount of 5 SCR at the odds of 1.51 on either Kerala blasters winning or the match ending in a draw. I did some research on the odds on the web site and took the advice of a friend before I placed my bet on betscorum. This time the two teams look evenly matched. While Kerala blasters are struggling to keep their head above the water (no relegation in this league), ATK is bent upon regaining their past glory. That is the reason I chose to give the benefit of doubt to Kerala Blasters, given that they had won the inaugural match of the season by defeating ATK 2-0.

The next match will be between North East United and Chennaiyin FC tomorrow (26th January). I am waiting for the day after tomorrow, the day when the two top teams in the league table will face each other. On that day (27th January), Mumbai Fc will host the runners up of last year’s final. That match will be exciting to watch and I think I will find myself betting on betscorum again.
