Hope you had a great betting yesterday. I finally managed to get some positive results and interestingly, over 70% of the predictions that I presented for Eredivise and Portugal Primeira turned out to be on spot. It was a little unfortunate because not all of my bets were matched properly and I might have gained an even better profit. Well, I shall continue that discussion at the end of the post and for now, let's take a look at my picks for the upcoming fixtures from French Ligue 1 and Danish Superliga.

The background is actually a French Flag but it suited well with both (with an apology to Danish fellas).

  • France Ligue 1

  1. FC Nantes vs. Bordeaux

The fixture where both teams are inconsistent where sometimes they shock us with a surprise victory/draw against a stronger team while in other cases they lose to a team from the bottom of the table. Nonetheless, the host's last fixture with Monaco was a tight defeat and I hope they would want to recover while the visitors are also attempting to leave an impression here as they have lost almost all games on the road. Their head-to-head fixtures were mostly dominated by the visitors, however, the hosts are performing much better in front of the home crowd. Both teams have an almost equal goal scoring/conceding ratio, which indicates that it might create a tug-of-war situation and might result in exhausting both teams to settle with a draw.

  • Draw @3.0
  • The option of handicap +1 draw is unavailable, otherwise, that could be a better option with nice odds of @5.0
  • High probability of under 2.5 goals
  • Bet value: Medium-Low
  • Best odds for Nantes vs. Bordeaux

2. Montpellier vs. Stade de Reims

This is another interesting fixture where both teams were almost in a draw zone, while the visitors managed to break the shackles and most recently with a good win against Rennais. This does not imply that they are in a great form as they are struggling to find the back of the net and are mostly relying on their solid defense. The home team have not let their opponents score many goals as well while managing an average scoring potential of 1. Montpellier have been more successful in their recent head-to-head games but the interesting thing is that either both teams conclude the match without scoring a single goal or follow the trail and blast each other nets. Nonetheless, this is a fixture with teams that are an equal match of each other and hence a draw would be most predictable of the outcomes with the high probability of a low scoring game. Otherwise, give Reims a goal advantage (+1) and you might have got yourself a good deal (@1.6)

3. Toulouse FC vs. SM Caen

Another dull fixture where a draw is written all over the team forms even though the hosts were performing well but they came under a dark spell and lost their form while the visitors were enjoying a cup of disappointment at the bottom of the table and suddenly came to senses before it was too late. Same is the case with their head-to-head fixtures where both teams present an equal win/draw rate, however, the home team has slightly better scoring potential. I am not sure that it justifies the low odds available for their win (@1.8) but I see that they are the favorite in this game due to their previous history and hope that they would emerge from the ruins and take this opponent as a hit on their pride. Nonetheless, it might be a tough nut to crack for the home team but I believe that they might be able to pull a much-needed victory here.

  • Home win @1.85
  • Under 2.0 goals might be a good grab as well @2.0
  • Bet value: Low
  • Best odds for Toulouse FC vs. SM Caen

4. Stade Rennes vs. Marseille

Despite their recent defeat to Reims, the host are not at all a bad team where they have beaten the likes of Real Betis, Saint-Etienne, Lille, and Amiens. In addition, their home form is improving and they have a considerably high scoring potential as compared to their opponents. The visitors have also recovered from their defeats and are in a winning run with a positive vibe because of which they are coming as favorites in this fixture and would make it an interesting one to watch. Their previous head-to-head games are equally won by both teams and given their excellent form it would not be wise to say that it might turn out to be a one-sided match. I believe that based on the home record and their current confidence, the hosts would outperform the visitors and may claim another victory but it would not be an easy one for them.

  • Denmark Superliga

  1. AC Horsens vs. Odense BK

Both teams are a true reflection of each other with their leaky defenses and inconsistent forms because of which they are neighbors in the bottom of the first half of the table where they often switch places. Both teams have a high goal conceding rate and usually, they were beaten with over 3 goals scored by their opponents, which makes the fixture rather hard to predict. Despite their almost equal stats, Odense have proven to be a cruel opponent and have dominated the head-to-head fixtures because of which they are favorite in this game, however, their away form is still questionable. Therefore, in such circumstances, I would prefer to choose the draw as the most suitable option.

  • Draw @3.6
  • Horsens +1 handicap @1.65 is also a nice option
  • Bet Value: High but risky
  • Best odds for Horsens vs Odense

2. Aarhus GF vs. Midtjylland

This is also an interesting fixture as both teams are on a winning streak despite that the hosts are at 9th place while the visitors are aiming for the title and are a few points behind the leader. Their recent head-to-head reverse fixture ended in a goalless draw and so was in the case before as well while only once the visitors managed to beat Aarhus with a 4 goal lead. As I mentioned, both teams current form is excellent, therefore, their recent fixtures are filled with victories and the home-away form comparison also shows that both teams are an equal match of each other. However, the main difference is in their goal scoring/conceding potential where the visitors have found the back of the net much more frequently than the hosts while holding a better defense and I hope that they would continue to do so.

3. Brondby IF vs. Randers FC

The visitors had a great run previously and they gained some points by marking victories, however, their form has declined considerably while Randers are what we can say the Wolves of this league as they barely managed to survive their previous season but in the current one they have proven to be a great threat to almost every next team. The visitors were on a winning streak which was shattered by only the topper of the league and they have very charming away form as well. Even though Brondbys posses a higher scoring potential than the visitors but they have an equally terrible defense, while the visitors are a fair combination of both. Hence, I speculate that it would be rather hard for the home team to crush them down completely and we may observe a tough fixture ending in a draw.

  • Draw @3.5
  • 50% chances of over 2.5 so yes the draw is a tough call.
  • Bet value: Medium
  • Best odds for Brondby vs Randers

My Recent Betting Summary:

As I mentioned in the start, most of my predictions were on spot (5/7) and my losing streak is finally over (I hope). All of the matches were very exciting especially "Utrecht vs. Excelsior" where the hosts were favorite and a stronger team but it ended in a goalless draw and a late 2 goals deficit comeback by Heerenveen to pull a victory was very exciting. However, my bets for Excelsior fixture were partially matched and 'Aves/Draw' was not matched at all despite providing higher odds for a home win, otherwise, that could be another great addition to my ROI.
