As you might have noticed that most of the fixtures available on betscorum this weekend are from the major league soccer (MLS), which have brought my attention back to this tournament. In one of my posts some time back, I mentioned the reason for my previous interest in MLS was Zlatan's debut at LA Galaxy in 2018 and I am expecting to catch some of his action this time around. The legend has already opened his scoring account this season in a match against Chicago. Well, LA's next fixture is a bit in the future and for now, we have other exciting games at hand. So, let's take a look at the stats comparison, predictions and my picks for the upcoming MLS games.

Predictions for Major League Soccer (MLS) (Modified Img. S,)

  1. FC Dallas vs. Colorado

Both teams in this fixture from the western conference started off the season with a draw. The visitors grabbed another one along the way in addition to a defeat, while the hosts knocked off the mighty LA Galaxy in a home fixture and lost their most recent match to Columbus Crew in an away one. It is hard to say something from these stats as only 3 games have been conducted so far but we can still make some raw speculations. Considering the facts, it seems that the hosts love a home fixture while the visitors are having trouble on the road. Despite that their goal scoring potential is almost similar (~ 1.2) but the visitor's defense is probably leaky because of which they could let their opponents score an average of 2 goals. Moreover, the performance of the home team was much better in the last season as they secured 4th position while the visitors were at the bottom of the table. Interestingly out of their 2 recent head-to-head fixtures (2018), one ended in a draw while the second was won by Colorado. These mixed scenarios indicate that even though the home team is favorite but we cannot just overlook the heavy probability of a draw. The odds of the home win a bit low (1.5) which also directs me to back the draw option with a small stake.

  • Draw @4
  • Under 3.0 goals @2.0
  • Bet value: Low
  • Best odds for this fixture

2. New York RB vs. Orlando City

The might of the eastern conference is hosting a team which is not so bad but may not have enough of the drive to beat the likes of RB. The hosts have won both of their league games for now and hold a pretty decent attack with an average of about 2 goals while the visitors have a terrible defense as they conceded over 2 goals/match. Their recent head-to-head fixtures were also dominated by the home team but just with a single goal margin. However, I believe they would be more able to pull this one off with a slightly better lead so I would go for handicap -1 NY RB.

  • Handicap -1 NY RB @1.95
  • Bet value: Medium
  • Best odds for this fixture

3. Philadelphia vs. Columbus Crew

This is one of those fixtures where anything can happen. In the last season, both teams fought for the 5th place in the eastern conference and ended up sitting next to each other in the table. Therefore, in this season as well we could expect them to find each other as the main contestants. However, it seems that the visitors are aiming much higher as they have started off the season in a spark of victories. The away team won 2 out of 3 games so far while the hosts demonstrated the exact opposite results. The visitors are coming to this fixture with almost double the goal scoring and half the conceding potential and it might get hard for the hosts to break down their high confidence. The odds demonstrate equal chances of a victory for both teams but my prediction model is tipping me to back the away team here.

  • Away win @2.66
  • A slight chance for over 2.5 goals @1.8
  • Bet value: High
  • Best odds for this fixture

4. Los Angeles FC vs. Real Salt Lake

The home team in this fixture loves to blast away the opponent's net. The players seem to be in good form, their passes are adequately accurate and God may protect the opponents from their deadly crosses. A couple of weeks ago they punished the timbers with 4 goals making that a worth watching game. From their recent 3 fixtures, they won 2 while the third was a 2 goals draw with NYC FC. Therefore, one thing is almost certain that we shall witness over 2.5 goals. The visitors might turn out to be a better team later in the season but currently, they have issues with their defense and a poor away form. They could secure a single goal victory at the home ground in their recent fixtures but let their opponents pocket over 2 goals in the other games. Hence, we can speculate that the home team would once again claim a victory here with at least 2 goals margin, therefore, giving a goal advantage to the visitors for better odds might turn out to be a valuable choice.

  • Handicap -1.5 LA FC @2.0
  • Over 2.5 goals
  • Bet value: Medium
  • Best odds for this fixture

I have announced 3 of these fixtures for the ROI Wars, so I am sharing my picks here.
