After a lucky day 1, I'm back for the second day of my betting journey. Since I have a low bankroll, every bet counts and I have a big bet coming up tonight as the New York Jets travel to play the Cleveland Browns. I've placed $5 on a parlay bet. To win, I need the Jets to win the game and for the total score to go over 39.

If you missed why I am taking this little betting journey, please read my introduction post here, follow along, and engage with me by commenting below.

Note: If you are in my NCAA or NFL survivor pools (and still alive), don't forget to make your picks! Make your NFL pick here and your NCAA pick here (and good luck!).

How I Pick My Bets

I look through the betting lines of the sports I know (MLB, NFL, NCAA Football) looking for spreads that stick out. After finding one I have a good gut-feeling about, I read several previews about the game. If I still fell confident about it, I'll then decide what kind of bet to make and whether or not to bet it straight or add it to a parlay (picking multiple teams to win in a single bet).

I am not an expert by any means, but have had some success in handicapping competitions (horse racing) and I have a lot of fun doing it.

Bets Made Today

I just made two bets today including a big one for a college football game tomorrow night. Here they are:

  • (9/20) I'm adding an impulsive bet on Dudelange vs. AC Milan. I like the over 2.5. I'm betting $12 to win 10.62.
  • (9/20) Washington Nationals -1.5 vs. New York Mets. Bet $3 to win $2.14.

The Mets are a mess and the Nationals are bringing Scherzer to the mound. It's always difficult winning a -1.5 wager in MLB, but this should be an easy game for the Nats.

  • (9/21) Central Florida -13.5 vs. Florida Atlantic. Bet $12.03 to win $11.04.

Central Florida has one of the best offenses in all of college football. I believe they'll win this easily over their in-state rival Florida Atlantic, and cover the 13.5 point spread, which is why I'm going big on this game.
