This season the waiting has already come to an end in mid-January, from this weekend on the fan crowds will flock again to the German football stadiums to celebrate their favourite club or to suffer with them.
To be exact, the game Hoffenheim against Bayern Munich already starts this Friday evening. At the beginning of the second half of the season, the German record champion is quite surprisingly not on 1st place, but lies 6 points behind the front runner Borussia Dortmund. The BVB, who played an excellent first round and was defeated only on the 16th matchday for the first and so far only time, will start the second round against the team of RB Leipzig, which is 5 points behind Bayern on the 4th place.
Even though last week the Handball World Championship in Germany made the headlines and the German national team has played a great tournament there so far, from now on King Football will probably take over the reigns again.
This season is more exciting than it has been for a long time and everything at the top or in the table bottom is still far from being decided. Even though Dortmund managed to gain a respectable advantage over their rivals, the German champion from München has not given up at all and is sticking to his goal of defending its title.
However, the match against TSG Hoffenheim will certainly not be a sure-fire success, instead Bayern will have to prepare for a hard piece of work. In this season's opening match, München Hoffenheim defeated Hoffenheim 3-1 in their own stadium, but for Hoffenheim's coach Nagelmann this was his only defeat as coach against Bayern München.

How about Hoffenheim?
And in his 100th league game, Nagelsmann's team will do everything in its power to ensure that this does not change. And not only for this reason it will be difficult for München to steal 3 points from the Rhein-Neckar-Arena. If you look closely, the hosts from Hoffenheim laid down a good run. Though in the last six games they only managed to draw, they haven't lost since 10 matches and are therefore in 7th place.
In order to be on the international stage again next season, the host must now do everything in their power to win more games and collect points and am sure they want to start with that task tonight. It's important to see if Hoffenheim gets the defensive better organised than until now, however, in the midfield and the offense they have have quite some creative options and let's not forget that Benjamin Hübner is back again too.
And Bayern?
Though the record champion from München has finally convinced again in the last games of the first round and sovereignly won some games, especially in the middle of autumn Bayern had quite a setback and had to go through a long dry spell.
At the opening game today, only three players will be missing: Franck Ribéry, Arjen Robben and Corentin Tolisso, otherwise all of them are on board and eager to fight for their permanent places. But München is going to face a radical change this year, older top performers will leave the club and in the last weeks different transfer rumours have determined the club news.
Whether the team could really prepare for the second half and the important opening match in Hoffenheim will have to be proven today. Last year, Bayern lost twice when playing in Hoffenheim, and it remains to be seen whether the champions will be able to break through this little negative series.
What are the odds?

As I said, Hoffenheim has tied the last 6 games and also in this first match of the second round of the German Bundesliga, a point sharing would not be a real surprise.

That's why in my second bet so far I will put 10 SCR on a draw. I know it is quite a risky bet but after going through my own analyses again and considering the odds, I am seeing this as a pretty interesting opportunity.
So I predict a draw with each team scoring once. It will take them a little while to get into the game but the second half should be really exciting.
