The super Eagles of Nigeria begin their AFCON 2021 qualifiers with the first match against the Squirrels of Benin.
The Super Eagles are playing at home at the Godswill Akpabio stadium Uyo. There is no better ground to kick start the qualifiers. The fans, atmosphere, and support at the stadium is always great.
The Super Eagles know that they need to win this match to set the tone for the rest of the group matches.
They are currently in Group L with Lesotho, Benin, and Sierra Leone. It's a very easy group and Nigeria should too the group with ease. This starts with a victory against Benin republic.
The Super Eagles had a good campaign in the 2019 nations cup in Egypt where they came third. They lost to eventual winners Algeria in the semi finals and beat the Tunisia team in the 3rd placed match.
Benin on the other hand have not been convincing so far. They scored only 3 goals in the 2019 nations cup which is bad. The lack of playing style and absence of quality players will surely haunt them. The last qualifiers saw them taking just a point in their 3 away games in group D. I expect the same to continue against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Prediction
The Super Eagles are not short of exciting talents and that should show in this match. I expect them to show their supremacy and score atleast 3 goals in this match.
