India would be staring at the series defeat against England in the ongoing five-match rubber when the two teams meet at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on August 18.
In the first Test at Edgbaston, skipper Virat Kohli was the lone warrior when it came to India’s batting. His valiant batting effort, however, went in vain as the visitors lost the match by 31 runs.
In the second Test at Lord’s, the story was more disastrous for India as they literally bowed down before the brilliant swing bowling from the hosts, led by veteran pacer James Anderson. The No. 1 Test side lost the match by an innings and 159 runs inside four days (one should remember the first day’s play was completely washed off).
People, on Twitter, have been criticising Kohli both for his leadership and inability to be front-runner when it comes to India’s batting. They are now asking former Indian skipper MS Dhoni to come out of his Test retirement and pull India out of hot waters.
Here are some of the tweets:
Dhoni retired from Test cricket in 2014 and since then has been playing limited-overs cricket for India. He will next play for India in the Asia Cup scheduled to be held in UAE from September 15.
