In the ICC Womens T20 World Cup Asia Regional Qualifier, Nepal has defeated Hong Kong by 4 wickets. Nepal reached the target of 63 runs in loss of 6 wickets at 18.3 overs. Nepoal will play against China today.
Winning the toss, HK elected to bat first. They were only able to make 692 runs at the end of 20 overs in loss of 8 wickets. Marina contributed highest 19 runs, Daswani scored 16 runs and Bela Pon scored 11 runs. Other Hong Kong’s batswomen failed to score the double-digit runs. Nepali team’s captain Nerti Thapa picked up 6 crucial wickets in four overs conceding just eight runs. This is the best bowling figure by Nepali Women Team players untill now. Sita Ranamagar also picked up two wickets.
Chasing the low target of 63 runs, Nepal’s operner Kajal Shrtesta lose her wicket just after opening her account. After that anotyher opener Sita Ranamagar was golden duck out. Both of the Nepalese openers were send back tot he pavilion by Jasmin. At that stage Nepal were at the worse conditon of 6/2. After that Indu Barma also lost her wicket contributing just 4 runs. Rubina Chhetri was only able to score six runs. After that Sarita Magar and Apsari Begam played good inning and helped Nepal to win the Match. Apsari contributed 24 runs meanwhile Sarita scored 16 runs. Nepal reached the target in 18.3 overs and won the match by 4 wickets. Now Nepal will face China today.
Only one team from this tournament will be selected for the global qualifier. Nepal has lost one and won three matches until now. Nepal will play their last match against Kuwait in 27th February.
