Pokhara Premier League is starting from November and the preparation for the tournament is going on. It’s going to be the biggest T-20 Cricket tournament in Nepal outside Kathmandu Valley. Queens Event Management Private Limited organizes this tournament. According to Queens Event Management PVT LTD, the cost of the competition is about $2,00,000. Dhangadi Premier League is the cricket league outside valley with a maximum prize for the winners. The winner for DPL is $25,000; PPL is going to be the Franchise Based cricket league with the highest prize in Nepal. The prize for the winner is not decided yet, but it will be more than $25,000 so that it will be the cricket league with the maximum prize in Nepal.
The six teams and their marquee players have announced. The six teams, team owners and marquee players are:
- Naresh Gautam is the team owner of the team Butwal Blast. National team’s important player Sompal Kami will lead the Butwal Blast in the first edition of Pokhara Premier League.
- Resham Rawal Mahara is the owner of the team Chitwan Rhinos. Chitwan Rhinos has selected national team skipper Parash Khadka as their marquee player
- Parash Luniya is the owner of the team Biratnagar Titans. Biratnagar Titans have selected the talented Sandeep Lamichhane. It will be the first time Sandeep is going to lead a franchise based team.
- Rajya Laxmi Golcha is the owner of the team Hulash Kathmandu Royals. They have selected national team vice-captain Gyandendra Malla as their marquee player.
- Binayak Pokhrel is the owner of the team Pokhara Paltan’s. They have selected the Sarad-Veshawakar as their marquee player.
- Sanjib Sharma is the owner of the team Dhangadi Blues. They have selected U-19 national team ex-captain Dipendra Singh Airee as their Marquee Player.
The player registration is open now; the players can register their name in the auction. The auction will be held soon, and we will also see some international players and maybe the big names from associates nations. Pokhara is one of the most beautiful locations in Nepal, and it will be exciting to see cricket in this beautiful venue.
